Jeff Madison started hunting rabbits with his father and grandfather in west Texas before he even started school. When he was in grade school, the family moved to western Colorado, where he continued hunting small game, then deer and elk.
He served a 32-year career with the Colorado Division of Wildlife, first as a local game warden in Meeker, then as a big game biologist and supervisory biologist. He was primarily involved with the management of elk, deer, antelope, bear, moose, and lions in the northwest quarter of the state. His job allowed him to guide many youth and first-time hunters, and to this day he especially enjoys helping new hunters be successful. Jeff also taught his three sons to hunt. He is widely considered to having taught his son Dayton, who is also a guide for RTS Hunting / Nine Mile Guest Ranch, with everything he knows about hunting. Jeff first hunted the Nine Mile Ranch in the early ‘80’s, and has guided hunters here and at other ranches since his retirement.
You can be sure that Jeff is knowledgeable about the animals, their habitat, and how to ethically, successfully hunt them.
